Speed Indicator Device
The Speed Indicator Device has been installed by Little Cornard Parish Council, with support from Locality Budgets provided by James Finch and Lee Parker, in order to monitor the speed of vehicles along the 30mph stretch of Bures Road through the village.
Typically, the SID will be moved between the 3 posts in the village on a fortnightly basis and the data recorded of all vehicle movements past the SID during the period will be shown on this page.
The Guidance of the data is as below:
85th Percentile Speed: 85% of vehicles are at this speed or lower (of all vehicles passing)
85th Percentile Vehicles: The number of vehicles at that speed and under of all those that passed by.
AADT: Annual Average Daily Vehicles Passing (since Project began) at that SID location.
Max Speed: Self-explanatory, but this will be rounded to 5mph.
Speed Limit: The road Legal limit is 30mph, but enforcement is only carried out at 35mph to void inaccuracies and human error.
Average Speed: The average of ALL vehicles (including legal speeds)
Average Speeder: Average of vehicle Speeds over the enforced limit of 35 mph.
